Balance transfer fee

A balance transfer fee is a one-time fee charged by many credit card companies for balance transfer services. The balance transfer fee is meant to help cover the administrative and processing costs incurred by the credit card company to facilitate the balance transfer process. However, cards offering special balance transfer promotions may offer this service fee-free.
