Smart Card

A smart card, also called chip card or intergraded circuit card (ICC), contains a microprocessor in the small credit card size plastic card.  The microprocessor can store financial and personal information.  With this ability, credit card companies can store reward program information, security information, or the card can be used as a stored-value card.  The smart card can keep track of the balance remaining with the stored-value card.
