Point Of Sale (POS)

Point of Sale, or POS, is the location in a merchant establishment at which a sale is consummated by payment for goods or services received. Point of sale also generally refers to a check out counter in a retail establishment. POS and point of sale are often used in reference to the computer hardware and software used in facilitating a sale of goods or services.
