Expired Card

When a financial institution issues a credit or debit card to a consumer it has an embossed, encoded, or printed 15 or 16 digit account number and  a date in which that card will expire and a new one must be issued.  Once this expiration date has passed the credit or debit card is no longer valid and will not be accepted.
