Bank Identification Number (Bin)

A Bank Identification Number, or BIN, is a structured numbering system on a credit card. The BIN is first six digits of a Visa or MasterCard credit card account number. The bank identification number is used to identify the financial institution that issued the credit card. The BIN system has been replaced by the newer IIN, or Issuer Identification Number.
